Our team includes some of the most experienced and highly skilled engineers in this field globally, and our equipment is world-class.

We perform diesel and gas engine rebuilds for the Mining, Rail and Gas Industries in accordance with engine manufacturer specifications and customer requirements, using genuine or aftermarket spare parts as specified.

Extensive Workshop Capacity

Teterin’s engineering facility includes large dedicated rebuilding bays and is equipped to recondition engine blocks up to 6,000mm, crankshafts up to 4,600mm, and cylinder heads up to 350kgs, with rapid turnaround and proven precision and quality.

We rebuild large diesel and gas engines and smaller ExDES (Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems), including:

  • Large Diesel & Gas Engines: Jenbacher Type 3, 4 and 6; MWM 2020, 2016 series; Deutz TGC620, TBD620; MTU; MAN.
  • Small ExDES Engines: Cat 3126, 3306; MWM 4.10 TAC; Perkins 1006, 1104.

Rebuilt gas engines can be commissioned on-site in conjunction with Cirrus Power Systems, a Teterin joint venture with Germany’s August Storm GmbH & Co. KG.

Industry Standard for ExDES

Teterin is NATA-accredited for work on ExDES engines, common to the Underground Mining Industry. We have long been a recognised ExDES facility, setting the industry standard for ExDES overhauls and rebuilds.

Rebuilt ExDES engines are dynamometer tested and gas emissions tested in the Teterin Engine Test Cell prior to dispatch.

  • Computer numeric controlled system automates cylinder head machining with repeatable precision
  • Up to 8 cylinder heads can be machined at once, reducing machining time

  • Fully programmable multi-angle valve seat, single point cutting for fast turnaround & excellent finish

Certified NATA Accredited Workshop for Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems

Teterin is a Certified NATA Accredited engineering facility for diesel engines which operate in explosive atmospheres underground. Teterin was one of the first companies to become accredited for Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems (ExDES).

NATA is the authority that provides independent assurance of technical competence through a proven network of best practice industry experts for customers who require confidence in the delivery of their products and services.

Teterin has been NATA-accredited since 2012.
